Our team member, Thomas Feliciani, has been recognised as one of the winners of the 7th edition of the Seed Projects for Interdisciplinary Research, a University of Coimbra (UC) initiative supported by the Santander Portugal Foundation. The winning projects were presented on 5 February at the UC Senate Hall.
Thomas’s project will establish a first collaboration in Portugal to develop and pilot a survey designed to collect research priorities directly from Portuguese residents. Using a mixed-methods approach, the team will compile a list of the priorities submitted, examine how research priorities are formed and how they differ across regions and social groups, and share the results with researchers, funders, and citizens.
The project aligns closely with UC’s strategic areas by strengthening dialogue between science and society and supporting more inclusive research agenda-setting.
Each of the five winning projects will receive €20,000 in funding. The award ceremony featured addresses by João Ramalho-Santos (UC Vice-Rector for Research and Director of the UC Institute for Interdisciplinary Research), the coordinators of the winning projects, and Amílcar Falcão, Rector of the University of Coimbra.
The EXCELScIOR project congratulates Thomas Feliciani on this recognition and looks forward to following the project’s progress.
