On October 20, 2025, the University of Coimbra hosted the Open Science Communities at UC 2025, a one-day event dedicated to sharing projects and initiatives that promote Open Science and related practices, while fostering connections among researchers across UC.
The programme included a series of project showcases, a keynote lecture, and opportunities for networking and discussion. In the morning, our team member InΓͺs Almeida presented TREASURE, an institutional pilot project aiming to reward master and PhD candidates for implementing reproducible, reusable and open research practices in their thesis research..
In the afternoon, EXCELScIOR team leader Tracey Weissgerber presented EXCELScIOR project – EXCELlent Science with Impact, Open and Reliable. Other projects from UC and partner institutions were also showcased, highlighting a variety of approaches to open and responsible research.
The event offered participants the opportunity to exchange experiences, learn about ongoing initiatives, and strengthen the Open Science community at UC.
