EXCELScIOR Participates in EUFLYNET COST Action Workshop

On October 30th, EXCELScIOR PI Alfredo Sánchez-Tójar participated online in a workshop organized by the EUFLYNET COST Action. During the event, Alfredo gave a presentation on rethinking standards in evidence synthesis for reliable ecology and evolution.

The EUFLYNET COST Action initiative aims to establish a scientific network focused on understanding the intricate dynamics of migrant landbird populations. By fostering cooperation and coordination among existing local research efforts across Europe, the network provides training and shares expertise with peripheral countries to ensure comprehensive engagement.

The presentation was addressed to members of the EUFLYNET network as well as participants of one of the major projects emerging from this COST Action, the Systematic Map Protocol, where Alfredo Sánchez-Tójar serves as senior author (the project is led by Vojtěch Brlík from the Department of Integrative Biology, University of Guelph & Department of Ecology, Charles University, Canada).

Around 20–25 participants attended the workshop, representing different career stages. The event promoted collaboration, discussion, and the development of rigorous and transparent research practices across the European research community.
