EXCELScIOR Team Leader Tracey Weissgerber delivers keynote lecture at the Munin Conference on Scholarly Publishing

On November 19, 2025, the Munin Conference on Scholarly Publishing, held in Tromsø (Norway), featured a keynote lecture by EXCELScIOR team leader Tracey Weissgerber. Her keynote, titled “Reproducibility starts with methods: Building a culture of openness and reuse” addressed one of the central challenges in modern research: ensuring that scientific methods are transparent, reusable, and reliably reported.

The lecture highlighted the essential role of coordinated action across the research ecosystem – including researchers, institutions, funders, publishers, and editors – in improving methods reporting and transforming research culture. Tracey Weissgerber also presented key recommendations from the EU PRO-MaP Science for Policy report and illustrated how the TREASURE programme at the University of Coimbra supports graduate students with incentives for reproducible, reusable, and open research practices.

The Munin Conference is a leading international forum for open science, scholarly publishing, and research integrity, bringing together academics, librarians, publishers, and open science advocates. This year’s edition continued its tradition of fostering discussion, collaboration, and innovation in transparent and trustworthy research practices.
