TREASURE Project Showcased at Research Quality Improvement Symposium, Sošice

From September 18–19, 2025 EXCELScIOR team members Tracey Weissgerber and Alfredo Sánchez-Tójar participated in the Research Quality Improvement Symposium in Sošice, Croatia, hosted at the Visitor Centre of Žumberak Nature Park.

On September 18, Tracey delivered the opening plenary talk, “TREASURE: Rewarding graduate students for implementing reproducible, reusable and open research practices”, presenting the University of Coimbra’s pilot program on responsible research assessment.

Later that morning, Alfredo contributed to the session on evidence synthesis and research waste with his talk, “Leveraging community-driven meta-research for reliable meta-analyses.”

The symposium brought together researchers, funders, publishers, and other stakeholders to discuss systemic changes needed to improve research quality and impact, with topics ranging from reforming research assessment to open science education and responsible publishing practices.

Participation in this event further strengthened the TREASURE project’s international collaboration, highlighting institutional strategies to foster reproducibility, openness, and reliability in research.
